In July 2001, the Little Wound Tribal School of the Pine Ridge Reservation, South Dakota sent a team of students, teachers, and an elder to the NMAI Cultural Resources Center in Suitland, MD to participate in a digital workshop that focused on Lakota and Dakota Winter Counts and their connections to the students' Native American heritage. |

The digital workshop activities integrated technology and culture. Students and teachers learned about digital photography, audio recording, computer graphics and three-dimensional imaging using QuickTime Virtual Reality. These activities blended with culture teacher John Around Him's unit on Winter Counts. |

The products of the Little Wound School's efforts are offered here to benefit the general public.
